Become a member and donations

We welcome new members.

  • To become a new member, please complete the form below.
  • Your membership fee helps cover basic costs.
  • The minimum membership fee is NZ$10.00.
  • Membership is paid per calendar year, from 1 January to 31 December.
  • Subscription rates are kept low to encourage membership, but you may pay more if you wish.
    • If you pay more than NZ$10 for membership, any amount over $10 will be considered a donation unless otherwise specified.
  • All members must consent to membership and agree to our constitution and purposes (see below).
  • All memberships are subject to approval by the committee.
  • Members will be added to our Newsletter distribution list.

From the 2026 Constitution

3.1 The Purposes of the Society are to:

(a) Promote the establishment of a Basic Income in New Zealand, i.e. an income unconditionally granted to all on an individual basis, without a means test or work requirement.

(b) Conduct, promote, educate, and disseminate research on Basic Income.

(c) Educate and promote informed public discussion on this topic.

(d) Serve as a link between individuals and groups committed to, or interested in, the establishment of a Basic Income in New Zealand.

(e) Do anything necessary or helpful to the above purposes.

3.2 The Society is not-for-profit and pecuniary gain is not a purpose of the Society.

Donations

  • Koha (donations) are welcome at any time.
  • Donations may be anonymous if desired.
  • You may make donations if:
    • you are paying your membership and wish to pay more or
    • if you support our work but do not wish to become a member.
  • Your donations help us to actively promote Basic Income.

Payment

  • Payments may be made by online Transfer
  • Account Name: Basic Income New Zealand Incorporated
    Bank acc. no.: 38-9017-0211892-00
  • Ensure your name is in the “Particulars” or Reference” field or that we know who the payment is for.
  • Indicate if the payment is for membership or for donation only.
  • If you have a joint account, please indicate who you are paying a membership for and if you are paying for one or more people.
  • Ensure you complete the form below if you wish to become a new member.

Please complete the form below if you wish to become a new member or if you are an existing member (before 2026) and have yet to provide your consent to membership.

All members must support the purposes of the society.
